I think you are very close. The bottom line is, they have EOL'd a product by bundling it with existing products and slapping a new name on it so they can stop renewing contracts. As a package, ICS is pretty cool FOR SOME BUSINESSES. Not for an ISP, college or school district.


If it was not for the gangster style and extortion level "upgrade" price, I would probably be content with the 8x increase in annual support costs providing I could get some of our hosting customers to pay for the added features. But they will not... as we already offer them with the existing product. There is nothing new for us as an ISP in the ICS product.

Yes, we can keep running the current version for a couple more years as it is stable for us and Declude seems to be backing us up. Since our contract is up in the spring, Ipswitch has made the decision for us.
