We have also been investigating e-mail archiving. Other than the stop-gap solutions mentioned, the only real solution that has present itself has been to move to Exchange and use one of the numerous products that is written specifically for Exchange e-mail archiving purposes. This ICS announcement has just sweetened the Exchange deal and I've already been in contact with Dell and CDW about pricing. Spoke with my boss briefly and we will be looking at it immediately.

It appears that unless some one rights an app, the way to do this will be using the copy all account combined with Imail rules to copy all into a mail box. Then you can do a couple of different things. 1 is to use the Bat I believe which can read the mail box file. The other would be to then POP3 that mail box to Outlook to a PST file, then use a third party software that can read and index PST files.
