Sorry, I should have said this is a MailEnable
server, so no Declude.
I've been reading about their MTA Pickup Events,
but I'm not sure yet if they work for outbound.

A closer read suggests that possibly you didn't care about
internal E-mail, and if this is the case, you can definitely gateway it through
your server with little effort and use the same COPYFILE
method.

Darin,
Set up an instance of MS SMTP on the customer
premise to serve as their SMTP server and gateway from this server to your
server and use Declude to COPYFILE all of the messages. Their own E-mail
server would only receive E-mail directly from you. The only place where
this might cause issues would be with something like OWA or another Web client
on the customer's server that would not be using the SMTP gateway. If
they are using something like Exchange with OWA, I believe that you would
probably either need to buy a product that integrates with
Exchange.

Anyone know of any good products to do
archiving of outbound email? We have a customer who wants to keep all
inbound AND outbound correspondence. Inbound is no problem, obviously,
but they need a solution to keep a copy of all outgoing messages through
some sort of SMTP gateway.
I doubt they have much of a budget for it, so
we would be looking for the least expensive, most simplistic solution
Thanks,
Darin.
