Title: Remote SMTP user cannot authenticate
Switch him to use the Netscape service for the same money and they aren't blocking ports this week.

Thanks guys, that was exactly it.  Netzero blocks port 25.

I just setup an alternate port in the firewall to pass to port 25.  The only thing that sucks is this user also uses his laptop here in the office.  So I have to setup a mail profile for use in the office that uses port 25 and an alternate mail profile that uses the alternate port out in the world.  Eh.

Most likely the remote user's ISP is blocking port 25.

I mail my mail server to relay for local IP addresses only.  However, I have a laptop user who authenicates SMTP remotely.  Suddenly it won't connect.  The message Outlook returns is cannot find SMTP server, but he can receive messages fine.  Any idea where to begin?  Our firewall is setup correctly, is this some kind of timeout issue?
