We use Symantec Antivirus for SMTP Gateways (now known as Symantec Mail
Security) .... has anyone used this as well as the SAV that Ipswitch sells?

I am interested in a comparison between the two if anyone has tried both.

Thanks.

It scans all mail, i.e. all mail processed by the local/remote
delivery agent.

POP3 and IMAP4 are neither incoming nor outgoing in common mailserver
parlance. They are mail client protocols.
