With IIS FTP I found that AOL users couldn't access the site. There's documentation on that somewhere. Since most of our reps are AOL users, it was a problem. IIS is over kill for FTP anyway. I dumped it for Linux Red Hat 9 and VSFTP. Much easier.

I am in the process of setting up FTP in IIS for multiple domains. If you
have experience with it, I would like to know what the limitations are.

Sorry to post OT, but where do you find a better group of people already hosting on Windows?

We're thinking about moving to 2003 server, to consolidate several older 2000 web servers on a
more robust server (dual xeon, 2gb, 200gb raid, etc...) I know IIS6 can be config'd via XML.
Any thoughts on how easy this is to maintain? From my perspective, to be able to config purely by
scripting would be nice.

BUT can I also avoid setting user accounts by using a 3rd party FTP server app? I know there are a couple
out there. Any recommendations? Ideally one with a text/xml config file, monitoring one IP address, and
routing people to the right folder based on login credentials without the limitations inherent in MS FTP?

Thanks

Chris
