mmc is NOT very intuitive, but you'll get there. I have one called "Console" with Services, Event Viewer and IIS for ALL my servers.
Do Start | Run | MMC. Console | Add Remove Snap-in Add, Folder, Close, OK. Rename "Folder" to Servername. Console | Add | select servername | Add DNS, Add Event Viewer, Add Services, Add Close Pick the next server, rinse and repeat. When it's PERFECT, Colsole, Options, mode User (pick one). That'll lock the mmc. To re-Author, just open it with the Shift Key down.
