Vigilante justice is not self-defense, and IS considered a crime.  The law
deals harshly with vigilantes.  Attacking someone else is wrong.  Preventing
them from attacking you _without_ attacking them is self-defense.  Len's
IMGate product is a perfect example of that kind of defense...._protects_
your services while not attacking the attacker in return.

Blocking spam: Yes (lawful)
Stopping spammers from sending it out to begin with: Yes (lawful)
Tracking them down and prosecuting them: Yes (lawful)
Taking the law into your own hands and attacking them: No (unlawful)
