IMO, who really cares, IMail is a dead product, and Ipswitch is a dead company. Soon there will be nothing to advertise except for maybe other mail server products.

In the mean time, I think it would be appropriate for a product's owner to announce new functions or versions just so long as it is done in an informational format and lacks a discussion of pricing and pushy sales talk. A "news release" format is probably inappropriate, but a "release notes" format would be very much appreciated. People have been doing this on the Declude list for their for-profit products for some time without a single complaint. People are reacting so strongly to this message because the previous one from this person went WAY over the line, and this message was borderline, suggesting that Evans didn't quite get it and he does need to be reminded not to do what he did again.
