Allen,
My objection is not about Ipswitch organizing their marketing however they wish -- that is certainly up to them. What I object to is that they don't take the responsible route and let you opt out of third party contact. The way they do it constitutes spamming, pure and simple. For a company that sells email, it's simply an unbelievably callous and unprofessional approach.

Subject: Spam Alert: RE: [IMail Forum] FW: Ipswitch ICS evaluation
Hi,
I just thought I would add something here:
Ipswitch ever since we purchased our first Imail server has always referred us to their gold partner when we downloaded their evaluation products. They have done this for at least two years.
Have worked for a sales company in the past it all depends on your marketing structure. If you want to hire the sales people and actively call everyone all over the world that downloads eval or do you want to build products and focusing on customer support. You could cut out the middle guy out and forget about the resellers. I am just thinking this Ipswitches marketing strategy that's all.
My two sents. :)
