Ok, good information.

Here's my plan then.

What if I change the IP of my email server and use that IP for the IMGate server.

I realize there are some config changes to Imail but seems to me less labor intensive than changing 100's of domain records.

Thanks for the info...

Is IMGate the best solution y'all have found for a gateway?

it's the best for high-volumes

How is it for handling 100's of domains?

I have a client with IMGate relaing for over 1000 domains. it's no problem, domain lookup is a b-tree database query. could 100's of 1000's domains

Do I have to make DNS changes for all my domains?

Of course, but only one record, a domain's MX record has to point to the imgate.ISPdomain.tld hostname.

Like I said, dumb questions but it seems we'll have to administer our mail server more.

quite the contrary, people find they have fewer IMail screwups, stoppages, and much better Imail performance after installing IMGate. And they can stop wasting big $$$ thrown at hardware needed to support windows boxes.
