Since they now also strip out all headers (they used to leave headers intact so we used Declude's customer header ability to note the intended recipient), the best thing to do is include an unsub link that has a unique identifier for the particular user. Not sure if your mailing list subscription system will do that for you, but a lot of them on the market will do that.

For example: I sent out on a subscription list for our local car club an email notifying our members that a new newsletter was available and got a TOS notice back. The included header from AOL is: -------------- Return-Path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from rly-xb01.mx.aol.com (rly-xb01.mail.aol.com [172.20.64.133]) by air-xb04.mail.aol.com (v104.17) with ESMTP id MAILINXB42-8441fe59582cc; Mon, 31 Jan 2005 11:14:36 -0500 Received: from dctra.org ([216.19.194.104]) by rly-xb01.mx.aol.com (v104.17) with ESMTP id MAILRELAYINXB12-8441fe59582cc; Mon, 31 Jan 2005 11:14:16 -0500 Received: from fed1rmmtao11.cox.net [68.230.241.28] by dctra.org with ESMTP (SMTPD32-8.14) id A2D7C4B00F6; Mon, 31 Jan 2005 08:46:31 -0700 Received: from home.microworks.net ([68.109.160.232]) by fed1rmmtao11.cox.net (InterMail vM.6.01.04.00 201-2131-117-20041022) with ESMTP id <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Mon, 31 Jan 2005 10:46:30 -0500 Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> X-Mailer: QUALCOMM Windows Eudora Version 6.2.0.14 Date: Mon, 31 Jan 2005 08:45:30 -0700 To: <Undisclosed Recipients> From: Dave Riddle <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: January 2005 Newsletter posted -------------------------- Thanks!
