Since I am using IMail (this is an IMail forum) I am asking the question related to the listserv built in to IMail.

Exactly my point...I don't know if his mailing list system will allow this or not.

This is why, if you do the list mailing correctly, the Youa re subscribed as emailaddress here at the bottom of all mailing, you will see who it was.  This is what I do.  Also, they do not always flag the spam on purpose.  If they have set the filtering too high, then it blocks false positives.  I usually contact the client directly to make sure this is what they want.  About 95% it was an auto-filtering feature form AOL that caused the problem.

The email client doesn't matter...I can see the headers just fine...  The issue is that AOL has recently started stripping out all custom headers, making it difficult, if not impossible, to tell the intended recipient from the headers.  That's why I suggested a link with a tracking ID in the body of the email...like many unsub links will do.

Try thunderbird and you'll see the header.

Is that not being removed now that AOL strips out all
headers (as of a month

or two ago)?

The TOS notices I get have the "spam" email
attached so you can look at

the header info to get the imail message id. We use
mxguard so it is

listed as 'X-mxGuard-Spool-ID'

Anyone have advice how to determine by checking the
mail servers logs

who an email was sent to at AOL since AOL removes the
address in their

notifications?

For example:  I sent out on a subscription list
for our local car club

an email notifying our members that a new newsletter
was available and

got a TOS notice back.  The included header from
AOL is:
