Hi Len,

Cheers for the feedback - All the mail is already scanned for spam/
viruses before it hits the box and the box is a DL580 with 4 * 2GHz
processors (the highest available for that version of the DL580) and we
don't have the budget for a new one. The cards work out about a third
the price of a new server.

For the traffic that we have (200k messages / day, 6000 unique webmail
users / hour) I reckon the encryption overhead would be too do it
without either an external accelerator or some internal cards.

These cards are pretty expensive,
you need spare card(s), and
you then have to see if Imail SSL/TLS can use them.

I bet you will be better off in upping your server hardware to 3+ GHz
CPU
and fast memory w/o h/w accelerator vs a slower machine with h/w
accelerator.

btw, you can also save you current box but offload a ton of work to make

room for the SSL stuff by running IMGate out front. IMGate always
allows
the Imail box to run noticeably much faster (or less stressed) and more
stably than without.

Len
