Our queue manager has 200 as value for "max delivery threads" 20 for "max retry threads" and 20 for "listen pipes"
for busy servers as MX, 20 is low. On busy IMGate servers, the default lumit is 100 smtpd servers, and I admin some that or 200 or 300, and another 100 for smtp clients. I admin many MXs with 100 to 150 smtpd running all the time.
Need 2 GB RAM (FreeBSD) for that many to load. On bloated Windows, probably 3+ GB
From saving Imail servers from instability, I think these expanded and tweaked registry params are probably important for your sanity.
A key test is to have an external monitor that is connecting to Imail, say once a minute, to see 1) how long imail take to answer and 2) if any "connection refused" occur. both signs of a stressed Imail in need of admin work or IMGate.
