I had a couple of customers using lotus notes ... part of their antispam
setup was to verify that the sending mail server had an postmaster account.
If it didn't then they rejected the email ... seams a little to much work
for an MX server, but they claimed it worked well for them.

Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] Spam to Root/Postmaster

Do the RFCs actually require that EACH domain on a multi-homed mail
server feature the "postmaster" and "abuse" accounts? I had always
assumed that the primary mail domain (the domain referenced in MX
records) required them but that the other ("child") domains did not.

I appreciate the warning re postmaster requirement from receiving mail
servers. Do they verify existence of a postmaster account at the
sending mail server's domain, or instead, the sender's domain?

Dave
