Now that I think about it, even on this list, I believe there are only two people on this list who believe that the wholesale blocking of DSL lines is OK. You and Len.

Three, but not in the simplistic manner you reduce it to.
I block dynamic "appearing", meaning IP embedded in the RDNS from abusive networks with common rdns entries.
And when a person responds to the webpage that my blocking (whether internal list or third party RBL) points them to I tell them flat out that their choice of ISP (usually a lazy telco/cableco) has failed to properly configure basic services for their connection and suggest that they find a more competent ISP.
And then I proceed to make an exception for their single static IP.
