Can you post the APP here.  It would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if a client adds a sender to the White List, does it effect all users?

Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Spam notification

We have a few thousand clients and tagging the subject line gets very messy, especially when you have to start responding to and dealing with false positives.  If you’re like me and want to reduce the amount of tedium in your mail administration, I would suggest only using header tags, then providing instructions on how to setup a mail rule.

I chose to use header tags and took it a step further by developing a cgi app that would modify the users mail rules by simply checking a box and clicking apply.  It’s very important to also provide an easy way for users to white list addresses.  This is your timesaver as a mail administrator because you are putting it in your customers hands.  Our customers have really taken to the app and it has been our best solution thus far.

no matter the number of clients you will have to inform them of your spam policy at some point. I would suggest modifying subject lines to start and let the clients sort it how they want.

We've found that it's easier to consult with the client on the options
of creating a folder or simply modifying the header/subject line.
Depending on their preference we set the rules accordingly. Some clients
want the folder some want the header/subject mod.

Does anyone know of a way (or has done it),(say if we have inbound rules

set

up for someone's mailbox to help catch some spam), to automatically

generate

an e-mail to them notifying them that they have messages in a Spam folder

on

their account.

We have a few people who have inbound rules set up, and if those are
triggered, it is sent to a folder called Spam.  They can then log in and
check that folder.  But they were wondering if there is a way for an e-mail
to be automatically generated telling them they have messages in that
folder.

Thanks
