I'm gonna go ahead and second (or third?) the suggestion for IMGate.
Even if you throw away Len's IMGate config and just use postfix (as I
was forced to do by my sup/inf/eriors) to block dictionary attacks, it
is well worth the time it takes to set it up (only a couple days here
for setup and testing, and I did it 3 times) and your Imail server will
hug you (if you installed the dual appendage add-on for your server).
Sorry for the excessive parens (I tend to speak in asides).

Whether you use IMail's built-in antispam and antivirus, declude or our
own mxGuard add-on, you should consider at least one  IMGate server is a
*must
have* component of your email infrastructure.  Your Imail server (and
your
customers) will thank you for the overall performance improvements.
