Hey all, I am currently testing Symantec Brightmail, and it has a
feature where it can Quarantine Spam emails and then will regularly send out an
email to the user telling them how many emails are in their quarantine and list
the subjects, sender, data & time of the emails, etc….and the user
can click on a link in the email to release the email from Quarantine and it
will be delivered to the inbox as normal, or they can delete the message. The
users can also manually log in to the quarantine facility and check their
quarantine folder manually. It has a few other cool little things it can do
that I won’t go into here. But basically…in order to get this working you need to
configure Brightmail to do an LDAP query. I have read through all the doco from
Symantec on setting this up in Brightmail. And I’ve tried to set it up
but I can’t get it to talk to the Imail LDAP database. The basic tests
work, but when I try to retrieve any information from LDAP I just get a “no
results” error. Has anyone out there successfully setup Brightmail to talk
to Imail’s LDAP database? If so I would love to know how you got it
working!!!! If it helps, we are using the standard Imail database. Thanking you…. Chris Jones Rural |
