I would think that since smtpd is multi-threaded in 8.2 that this should
be a thing of the past if you can or want to upgrade.

Dermot,
This happened to me as well.. I had to re-install all of the service
files and DLL's. You would probably be best to contact Tech support
so that they may help you with this. Once I reinstalled them, things
have been better.

I have seen this happen once recently. SMTPd32.exe was using 1.3GB
of RAM.
I haven't seen it again but I've definitely been watching for it.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Apparent Memory Leak in SMTPD32
I appear to have a memory leak in the smtpd32 process. I am running
8.15hf1
and am seeing times when the smtpd32 process will consume all available
memory and the spool will only have a couple hundred items in it,
including
a weeks worth of logs. I am also running Declude Junkmail and Virus
version
2.0.6. I've seen it using as much as a gig of ram. If I stop and
restart the
service memory usage drops back to about 7 Meg's. Then within 8 hours
or so
it's back to consuming all available ram again. It will go on like this
about a day and then be fine for a week or so and then start doing it
again.
Any insight would be appreciated.
TIA,
Art Plato
