Weird –
Something that I have
seen on the list in the past is that if you have an on access virus scanner
that is set to delete infected messages it can delete the MBX because it is
one file. Maybe that is what happened, because of the huge volume of
viruses over the last day or two…

Forum] Missing
I have quite a weird issue,
concerning mail disappearing last night.
A few of the management team use
Outlook Express to view email at home (using the "leave a copy on mail server"
option). They have been doing this for over a year
now.
Emails that where received at
their home have not been received on their work machines. Now, normally
I would say that there's 80% chance that the problem lies with their OE
settings at home (the leave a copy of mail server box has been unchecked by
their kids etc). But I also had people who had been checking their
mail via webmail and the exact same issue has happened their. - Just a
coincidence, possibly. But the people who reported the issue with
webmail are extremely competent. So now I'm left scratching my head
wondering what happened.
There's a definite gap in my own
mail between 11.00 PM last night and 9.00 AM this morning. I have
checked the logs and it shows that mail was delivered to my Mailbox (about 17
messages)???
Any suggestions about how to
figure out where these message went?
