It was my thought that maybe we are having problems with reverse DNS lookup.
If the target mail server tries a reverse DNS lookup and cannot communicate
with our iMail server, then we never get a confirmation that the email was
ever successfully delivered, thus the multiple attempts.

This is just a theory.
