If you reply, and change the subject, and remove the body, you have NOT
created a new thread. You HAVE created an new ordering if someone does a
"Sort By Subject", but the "thread" is controlled by the list server
software. Unless you change the headers ("References:"), you are on the same
thread to many/most readers.
THIS message is on the same thread also. I didn't change anything, so the:
References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
header should still be in your copy of the message.
If you go to the "original" John Hunt message, it says:
Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
in the headers; thus, we are on the same thread.
