Did you see a "Processing" line in the log after the SMTPD process wrote the
spool file? Logs will tell you a whole lot

Subject: [IMail Forum] QueueMgr "stopping" for 10 hours?
Hello,
yesterday afternoon our Queue Manager stopped working, the Service was
"Stopping", for about 1,5 hours. I looked in the Spooldirectory, found
many
mails, searched for the error, killed the Queue Manager Process, restarted
it and everything was working again.
Some hours later (half an hour after leaving the company :-/ the Queue
Manager stopped working again until I killed it this morning.
first: why does the Queue Manager go to "stopping" mode and why couldn't
it
stop?
and:
I though the Imail Monitor should do the kill & restart for me?
(I got this Mail now, after the Queue Manager is working again:
QUEUEMGR DOWN
Service not running
Restart failed
We are using Imail 8.15HF2 with Declude AV & Junkmail on a Windows 2003
Server with SP1.
The Mails all went to the Spool directory so the SMTP Part worked, only
the
outgoing delivery stopped.
Any Ideas?
Alex
