Certainly.

Instead of CC all internal users, cc a new account, which is a program
alias.

That program alias would do what you want. IMail doesn't have that
resolution. It <probabl> could do all the filtering, but eventually would
either deliver or trash the email, it wouldn't modify it and send it on.

I'd be happy to write you a program that does what you need. I'd need a few
more details, of course. And, if you wanted to do this on ANY outbound mail,
regardless of it being CC'd to the "right" place, we can probably do that
too, but I'd need to think about that somewhat.

Subject: [IMail Forum] How to strip attachments from CC-ed messages with
Imail filtering?

We're an architect firm with 80 users. Because of the legal aspects of our
business, any architect of our firm who send a message to anyone with file
attachments, has to CC the same message (with attachments) to everybody in
his or her team including the project manager.

The problem is, that because of all these CC-ed messages with attachments
(each attachments are between 1-10MByte), the user's client software piles
up a lot of messages and attachments.

Basically these users need only the text part of the message for the sake
of records, but they could easily live without the attachments, since they
can always go to our file server and look up the original zip file of
AutoCAD files if they're interested.

Question: Is there a way to configure Imail filtering, that:

IF the file attachment is a zip file
AND the sender is a local user (resides at our work facility)
AND the recipient's email address is in the CC field,
AND the recipient's email address is from our domain,
THEN strip the attachment and deliver only the message?
