I acknowledge, first of all, that I'm a brand new subscriber to this list.
That said, I felt it was important to announce that I reported the following
Imail 8.2 HF2 bug to Ipswitch today*:

If you modify the defaults for new users on any single host, you will find
that the same settings get applied to ALL hosts.

This creates a very serious problem (particularly for web hosting
businesses). When a customer logs into webmail to create their own new
users, any new users they create will get whatever settings you last applied
to a host through the Administrator console. This represents a severe
security risk if any administrator options were last selected, since those
will apply, too!!

Practical Example:

Lets say that you're running 3 virtual mail servers: mail.host1.com,
mail.host2.com, mail.host3.com
It's quite common to have different mailbox size offerings for different
hosts that subscribe to different plans. So...
mail.host1.com should have max mailbox size = 10 MB for any new users
created
mail.host2.com should have max mailbox size = 20 MB for any new users
created
mail.host3.com should have max mailbox size = 30 MB for any new users
created
This configuration is not possible due to this bug. All new users for ALL
hosts are going to get the SAME settings applied to them.

>>> Again, if administrator options have been selected for new users in the
Administrator console, those will be applied across the board for new users,
too!! <<<

* After a half hour of holding for tech support (despite being "next in
queue"), I finally opted to leave a message (in which I described the bug).
It was at least a few hours before my phone call was returned. After the
tech verified the bug, he said he'd look into it further. I haven't
received any further contact from them as of yet, however.
