Greetings,

Last night I upgraded my imap/pop servers (on Mac OS X) to 2006c from b. This morning I began having problems with my mail client (Apple Mail v2.1 (752/752.2)) suddenly reporting that all messages in some mailboxes (folders) were unread. Even after marking them read it would happen again a little while later.

Then, upon closer inspection, I found that ALL allegedly permanent flags have been lost on these mailboxes. One important archive mailbox with 4389 messages I know had about one third of those messages "flagged". Now, zero flagged messages. (Sigh.)

All of these mailboxes are mix format.

The only triggering event I could see was that all of the effected mailboxes had messages appended or moved to them by the client. Some were manually dragged by me, some triggered by rules run on the client and some were deletions which I've set the client to do by moving them to a Trash folder.

No other software (on the client or server) changed and since reverting back to 2006b the problem has not recurred, though all of the lost flags are still lost.

Anyone else seeing strange wholesale corruption/loss of message flags?

I'd be happy to help debug this but will likely have to do so this evening at home. My imap connection is via TLS and that makes it pretty hard to snoop the IMAP conversation. At home I could run 2006c again and connect without TLS for debugging purposes.

Thanks,
-Mike
