Hello,
We are considering using the MX folder driver in mailutil to export mix
and mbx folders into a 1-message-per-file format
that can be easily read by Outllook-related programs, thunderbird,
etc. This works well in our tests (especially if you remove the
.mxindex file and append a ".eml" to the end of each message file
name). The two questions I do have are:
* The docs in the uw imap distribution inducate that "mx" is
experimental, not to be used, and may be removed. Is there any real
expectation that this driver will be removed from the distribution in
the foreseeable future?
* The syntax for specifying a new MX folder is different than for other
formats it seems. If one is "root", it seems that you can not specify
just any absolute path as a new MX directory. You can use
/tmp/foldername or /foldername, but /some/long/existing/path/foldername
may return an error that it is an invalid MX folder name. I can live
with this, but I don't see where the "valid MX folder name" is specified
so I can understand the exact set of allowed names.
Thank you,
