It's alright to use noatime for mix, but not for mbx or traditional UNIX
since atime is used to identify mailboxes with new mail by both imapd
and the UNIX shell.

Thanks much Mark.  I thought I remembered something like that, but I
wasn't certain.  I wasn't aware that mix avoided the issue though --
just one more thing to look forward to...
