So long as the program (mail client) uses the "c-client" library for
all mailbox access it can understand (open, read, update, etc)
mix format mailboxes (as well as any other format known to "c-client"
such as mx, mbx, mbox).
Examples of this would be new versions of "pine" or "alpine" mail clients.
Thunderbird does not use "c-client" library so it would not be able
to do this.
