Scenario: - Client 1 & 2 have both selected inbox. 1 message present. - New mail arrives in inbox (seq num 2) which client 2 is notified about (after a NOOP call) - client 2 issues a "store 2 +flags (\deleted)" - client 1 issues an "expunge" on inbox.
What is the correct response to the expunge. Or is implementation dependent? Response 1 - client1 told of existence first C1: tag EXPUNGE S: * EXISTS 2 S: 2 EXPUNGE S: tag OK EXPUNGE completed. Response 2 - client1 not told at all, but new message is deleted from the mailbox C1: tag EXPUNGE S: tag OK EXPUNGE completed. Other response?
