Hi Dave, First, I might note you are posting to the wrong list, this list is for IMAP protocol discussions, not platform-specific questions. I believe the not so well named c-client list is appropriate for your question on UW-imapd.
A quick answer though. UW-IMAP is quite capable of this, the problem you are having is with the mailstore type you are likely using. The default mailstore on UW-IMAP (mbox, I think) uses a file for each IMAP folder. That file has all that folder's mail. It is a very efficient mechanism, but clashes with your requirement. It is not possible in that situation to have a folder within a folder as that would essentially be a file within a file! If this capability is critical to you, you need to use a mailstore that uses a subdirectory for each folder, as a subdirectory within a subdirectory is obviously supported Make sense? If not, or if you are unsure what mailstore to use and how to configure it, I would suggest posting your questions to the C-client list as you will probably find plenty of people willing to offer their advice that are more knowledgeable on UW-imap and supported mailstores. Choice of the mailstore format is a hot political topic for many, expect some conflicting advice ;) Hope this helps point you in the right direction.
