Thanks for the information. But in fact, as I wish to have something 
that is compliant with most servers, I have also to implement without 
this extension.

Currently, my client allows people to display just the message counts of 
a mailbox :

And for IMAP mailboxes, I just do that, then, when the user choose the 
mailbox, there is more things.

Could you give more details about your idea ?
What will I do that make the things wasteful ?
