Are his initials S.P.?  Oh yes, they are (dig tells me so ;-)  This explains 
his recent posts on the Imail list and spam-l regarding subscriber networks 
(where he didn't fare too well).  Interesting since I was under the 
impression he was fighting the good fight for others.
