I'm in a Hilton in San Jose CA. Cannot send mail to the IMGate list or to myself using either of my Eudora accounts that have my Imail as SMTP server requiring SMTP AUTH:
Sep 23 15:52:13 Mgw1 postfix/smtpd[94171]: F1A88EF42C: reject: RCPT from streamline120.sjccnet.com[207.87.51.120]: 504 <hil_sanjose>: Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname; from=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> to=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> proto=ESMTP helo=<hil_sanjose> and: Sep 23 17:08:08 Mgw1 postfix/smtpd[94686]: 281D1EF4AC: reject: RCPT from streamline120.sjccnet.com[207.87.51.120]: 504 <hil_sanjose>: Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname; from=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> to=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> proto=ESMTP helo=<hil_sanjose> All outbound mail from my Eudora from this hotel IP that should go to my Imail machine for SMTP AUTH is ratther being re-routed to the MX of the @recipient.domain!!! I had to whitelist 207.87.51.120 to send my mail. What a strange SMTP policy! They block access to my mail server's port 25 and redirect my mal to the MX of @recipient.domain, while NOT setting up their HELO hostname as FQDN. Len
