For the record.
Found the problem. It was caused by the loop that does content filtering
sophos AV.
old master.cf
127.0.0.1:10026 inet n - y - - smtpd
-o content_filter=
-o myhostname=dummy.domain.tld
new working master.cd
127.0.0.1:10026 inet n - n - 100 smtpd
-o content_filter=
-o myhostname=dummy.domain.tld
Seems to work correctly now.
