the preferred way to delete a message is to use a "Trash" folder. On deletion the message gets moved there. You can auto-expire messages in the trash after XX days. This is especially important if you plan to use ActiveSync with Apple devices: Delete on the device works with a Trash folder only. (I had to learn the hard way...) > 4.
