Hi all, This proposal is in the very early stages right now - there are still parts of the process that I haven't totally nailed down yet.
[1] https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Import_Kokomo_address_data The city of Kokomo, Indiana has GIS data available and one of the data sets is address data. I'd like to eventually import this data into OSM. I was provided with a Shapefile containing about 36,000 points. The points appear to be in parcel centers and a spot check against Bing imagery shows that they're mostly OK. I am waiting on a response for explicit permission to use their data in OSM - in lieu of a pre-existing policy, I am requesting a statement using the language on the wiki. Other than that, I see a pretty straightforward way to import the vast majority of the data. The draft of the proposal on the wiki [1] has more information about the data, along with links to a sample of the raw data on Github.[2] Any input appreciated.
