Hi, I would like to propose some changes to the import wiki page.
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Import/Guidelines The actual expectations for imports are firmer than what is suggested by the wiki page. The goal is to catch the wiki page up with the actual current expectations... Stop calling it the "Guidelines" start calling it the "Policy". Its our policy. If its ignored, everybody is going to be upset about it.... Some items in the document are more important then others. Lets documentation them as required for everybody. I suggest that every import *must* have the following items. - entry in the data catalog - discussion with local mappers, wherever they are.... - wiki project page, with license check, tag plan, and conflation plan. - at least one email to the import list after the wiki project page is completed and the local consultation completed. - when uploading, an import account Everything else on the page becomes *should* have aka a guideline. Thanks Jason. _______________________________________________ Imports mailing list [email protected] https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/imports
