Yes, the clause really seems silly, because if you'd pursue unlawful purposes, wouldn't the last thing you'd care about, be the infringement of a data license? Take a national secret service, apparently (nearly ;-) ) all of them are violating their own countries laws and constitutions (which they should officially be protecting) and undermining the democratic control set up to limit their power, etc.. Would they refrain from using this or any other data they can get their hands on because of a clause like this in a license that grants data use rights? Cheers, Martin
