Have you considered, rather than adding building=yes, that you add a more specific value for the building tag? Maybe building=retail for the shop? The OSM wiki lists some possible building tag values: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:building and taginfo lists things that are being used: https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/building#values
