Forgive me if I am not seeing the problem, but it does exactly what you
are describing is needed. Assume the following information Companies: ABC, XYZ Addresses Desired: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] IMS accounts set up 'abc', 'xyz' Two companies, Company ABC desiring email address [EMAIL PROTECTED] Company XYZ desiring email address [EMAIL PROTECTED] Is this assumption correct? both use sales@ address, but the plugin delivers [EMAIL PROTECTED] to mailbox account abc [EMAIL PROTECTED] to mailbox account xyz Company ABC's return mail shows '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Company ABC's account that is checked with IMS is named 'abc' with it's password Company XYZ's return mail shows '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Company XYZ's account that is checked with IMS is named 'xyz' with it's password The mailbox accounts names are transparent and are not even seen after the initial client configuration. I hope I am understanding what you need to do. Is this a correct assumption? ~Greg Kerry Barlow wrote: Yes: This is what plugin1 does. However my two companies specifically wanted to set their email address to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED] NOT [EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sighh. I always get the wierd customers. call it bad luck that way I guess. I finally talked one company into using [EMAIL PROTECTED] for their mail. Thanks all. -KerryAt 06:33 PM 11/17/03 -0500, you wrote:That is exactly what Plugin1 does. I've been using it for quite a while and it works fine. Do they use Outlook as their email client? If so, on the General tab (of Properties for that account), set the Email address to [EMAIL PROTECTED], and on the Servers tab set the Account Name to sales_abc. Whenever they send mail, it will show that it was sent from [EMAIL PROTECTED]. When email is sent to them at [EMAIL PROTECTED], Plugin1 will alias that address to sales_abc. Also, when they check their email, it will use sales_abc as the account to check. This is exactly how it will work for the sales_xyz account and alias. This is the problem however. They must use an aliased mail account in their Email client. They cannot enter [EMAIL PROTECTED] for their POP settings, they would have to enter [EMAIL PROTECTED] to receive any mail. I was hoping there may be an alias to get around this problem. -Kerry At 03:47 PM 11/17/03 -0500, you wrote:Here's an example: Company ABC Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] User sales_abc Using aliasing, forword [EMAIL PROTECTED] to sales_abc Their mail account is 'sales_abc' Company XYZ Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] User sales_xyz Using aliasing, forward [EMAIL PROTECTED] to sales_xyz Their mail account is 'sales_xyz' Let me know if you need further help. ~Greg Kerry Barlow wrote: |
