Learn something new every day. I had thought that the x.x.x.x/y.y.y.y was the old method and the x.x.x.x/y was the new. Guess I had jumped to that conclusion as my older routers etc. used the dotted-quad subnet mask and my newer stuff used the slash-subnet bits method.
Its odd that this question on smtprcv came up today, as I had the very same question a couple of hours ago when blocking a Nigerian Scam spammer. I first tried the dotted-quad, and when that didn't work I tried the slash subnet bits method, which worked. -Alan >it's the old method. >exact ip is 32 >class c is 24 > >klint.
