This is a know problem

It is trying to deliver to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (invalid user) when [EMAIL PROTECTED] is a (valid user)

I believe that Klint may be looking into this issue

My server's getting bogged down with messages that appear to be looping via port 127.0.0.1. Here's a snippet from one that's been traveling around for days. Nothing strikes me as obviously wrong.

What to do or test?

stop the spam filer.
stop the delivery service.

move the contents of your domains and holding dirs to /temp

restart services.

go look at the messages and find the ones that are looping,
and if they are spam, nuke 'em, and if they aren't, then
deliver them manually.

take the rcp files and the .msg files that are valid, dump
them back into the incoming folder, and you're good to go.

nt doesn't care about the @ or anything after it.
usually the looping is caused by dns issues.

you might also check

HKLM\system\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Domain
type REG_SZ
value yourdomain.com

and

HKLM\system\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Nameserver
type REG_SZ
value(s) nameserver ip addresses.

just to make sure they're good.

for what it's worth, i always run a dns server on my mailserver just
so i can point to 127.0.0.1 with the name server addresses. it saves
on network dns traffic, and delays for rbl lookups and the like.
(dns servers cache data)

i used to have this same problem with internic all the time.
i finally had to set my dns server to be a primary dns server
so mail would get delivered.
