Defense in depth is an important part of security. I've had over a dozen
viruses get through the antivirus check so far this year (usually because
they came before the antivirus was updated to detect them); the Trash Finder
attachment check has prevented them from being delivered. It's always
preferable to have multiple ways to detect malware. So I think the extension
check is needed, but not so that it blocks all of the mail on the IMS
list...
