How does SpamTrap on SMTPRCV work?

I've got the perfect address, it's one that has only appeared in a domain
registration by mistake and has never been a valid address yet it receives
hundreds of spam a day.

So I turned on SpamTrap and listed the one address and nothing seemed to
happen so I added the address to my user list so that it wouldn't be
rejected and now it's getting spam which I need to clean up and I see no
evidence in the log of anything being blocked because an IP sent e-mail to
my SpamTrap.

I would have expected SpamTrap to reject (or quietly trash) the e-mail to my
trap, log in the R-log the trashing and then I would expect to see other
R-log entries of e-mail from the now-blocked IP that had fallen into the
trap.

Am I expecting something I shouldn't?

Thanks,

Don DeCosta
