I got bombed like this as well!
You can use SMTPRcv, or you can setup plugin1 to be a white list, as follows: ----------------------------------- "[EMAIL PROTECTED]","[EMAIL PROTECTED]" "[EMAIL PROTECTED]","[EMAIL PROTECTED]" "[EMAIL PROTECTED]","[EMAIL PROTECTED]" . . . "[EMAIL PROTECTED]","[EMAIL PROTECTED]" "[EMAIL PROTECTED]","[EMAIL PROTECTED]" ----------------------------------- with a....z being real addressess, and 10.0.0.1 being your mail server ip address. ----------------------------------- Then setup a schedule to delete any e-mails sent to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]". This will work like a white-list, with anything sent to a non-existing address will be deleted outright..... ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Mike Herman / Sure Fit Inc. wrote: > > We are getting flooded by emails to our server in this format: > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > ....etc > > with everygroup of 4 or five with a different forged "from", therefore > putting the from address on my blacklist does no good. > > Can IMS help me with this problem by just dropping emails that do not have a > valid 'TO' ? > > You can imagine the traffic I get with 20K of these a day plus the bounce > messages...etc. > > Thanks guys. > Mike This is the discussion list for the IMS Free email server software.
