I was having some trouble with this kind of thing until I got my DNS
server entry (with my registrar) set up with an SPF record. Since I did
that, I've had no more trouble delivering. You can see example SPF
records by using NSLookup command prompt utility, "set type=txt", then
enter a DNS name. If there's a string that begins with "v=spf1..." they
have an SPF record set up. A great place to start is with
<http://www.openspf.org>. You can learn about it and they have utilities
to help you compose an SPF record and test it out.

Hi everyone! This is an SMTPDS problem that's persisted since last month.
Suddenly, it was having a LOT of trouble delivering to yahoo and a handful of other domains.
The domain.mri was creeping towards 54 tries.
Then I think the behavior changed, yahoo would let in my mail, but very slowly, my mailing list
users are getting postings three days after they've gone out to everyone else.
I asked for help here, and people thought it might be my DNS, but my DNS hasn't changed in
years, and can resolve everything with no problem.
So here's what's new: I put a sniffer on the case, and watched the SMTP conversation. What
is happening is, the servers have a very happy conversation, until the end.
Yahoo accepts my greeting, accepts the list of recipients (max of 40 per conversation),
accepts the DATAl, acknowledges the end. AND THEN, the last reply from the yahoo server
is either "service temporarily unavailable try again later", or "TCP out of order".
And again, I know I'm not spam-blocked because my mail IS accepted eventually, just days
too late.
It's been going like this for a month, it's not just yahoo, maybe five other domains, but yahoo is
the biggest.
Has anyone received messages like this in the past with SMTPDS? Any suggestions greatly
appreciated.
