Alfredo, What you are describing here makes me think of my own anti-spam system, based on the so-called greylists
The basic principle is that my server WILL answer "service temporarily unavailable try again later", based on the assumption that a spammer server will NOT retry later, while an honourable server will retry later. It is described here : http://projects.puremagic.com/greylisting/ The delay before the mail will finally be accepted is a matter of settings, usually a few minutes. Several days, that would be abnormal.
